There are plenty of skin care products in the market. You might also find plenty of reviews by users for all of these products. But what actually should you look for when you choose a user review to learn about the product? To begin with, check the review to understand the recommended skin types for the particular product. This is the most important step when you pick skin care products. Not all products work equally well and not all of them show similar results for all skin types. Some products that work well for dry skin might cause breakouts for oily skin.
How to identify your skin type?
This can be learned from a simple observation – strip off every bit of makeup on your face. Once you have deeply cleansed your face to wipe it dry and allow the skin on the face to breathe. Leave it untouched for an hour or so. After this waiting period, if you find flaky patches or dry white patches on your skin, you have dry skin. If your skin appears smooth then you have a normal skin. If the skin feels oily in several areas you have oily skin. And if there are some areas that are oily and some areas that feel dry, you have a combination skin.
Pick the best ingredients
Sometimes the product label directly mentions the skin type recommendation. If you cannot find this on the label, then look at the primary ingredients in the product. There are some ingredients that are known to be good for oily skin and some for dry skin.
If you have an oily skin pick products that do not strip away the natural moisture in your face. Pick those that are light and easy to absorb.
Heavy creams might be suitable for those with extra dry skin. Pick skin care products that offer deep hydration to your skin.
